AltStore, an alternative iPhone app marketplace co-founded by Riley Testut and Shane Gill, raised $6 million in Series A funding from Pace Capital in October 2025. The funding will help the two-person startup expand AltStore’s platform beyond the European Union to Australia, Brazil, and Japan by the end of this year, with plans for a United Kingdom launch in 2026. Since launching after the EU's Digital Markets Act took effect, AltStore has grown from just two apps to hosting over 100 developers, offering popular titles like Epic Games’ Fortnite and apps that don’t meet Apple’s strict guidelines.
